Write to Mary

Letters to my great-gran, Mary, from me once a month, and from anyone who needs to write one. Here’s how it works.

Need to talk to someone? Support is here.

  1. Write your letter

To Mary, about anyone. Someone you miss, someone you never thanked, someone you never got to meet. Or pin up a quote you love.

  2. Choose who sees it

Put it on the board with your first name or anonymously, or keep it private, just between you and Mary. Then choose: kind replies from readers, just a reply from Mary, or no replies at all.

  3. A human reads it first

Nothing goes on the board until I’ve read it myself. No bots and no auto-posting. I just read it, kindly.

  4. Mary writes back

Mary is me, Jaime: a real person, never AI. If you ask for a reply, I’ll write back within a few days.

Once it’s sent, everyone else sees it in this spot. I read everything before it goes up.

Write to Mary

Write about someone, or ask her to pass something on. “Dear Mary, if you see my dad, tell him I got the job.”

  • I read everything before it goes on the board.
  • Sign with your first name, stay anonymous, or keep it private, just between you and Mary.
  • Choose kind replies from readers, just a reply from Mary, or none.
  • Pick its colour, paper and pin in “Add to the board”. Once sent, it stays exactly as you made it.

If you ask for a reply, I'll write back within a few days.

Replies

So I can write back to you, or let you know when your note is up. It's never shown on the board, shared or sold. For a private letter, it's the only way I can reply.
